Stephen Lloyd-Morgan, the Welsh Tenor, who has gained widespread popularity and critical acclaim across the Costa del Sol,
is just one of the confirmed performers for this year’s Festival Internacional de Arte Marbella. Stephen is a professionally trained singer, having studied opera at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and Musical Theatre at the Mountview Academy of Performing Arts in London.
He has since performed in a number of musicals and operas both in the UK and Ireland. Since moving to Spain in 2007 he is eagerly sought for his after-dinner entertainment evenings and more recently his concert performances, which incorporate a wide ranging repertoire of Musical Theatre & Opera, including `Crossover´ & `Il Divo´ style Classics. He now has a dedicated following on the Costa del Sol and these performances are often sold out.
”One of the finest discoveries this Costa has ever been blessed with…” – Maurice Boland Talk Radio Europe – December 2009
“Welsh tenor Stephen Lloyd-Morgan delighted the audience with his renditions of You Raise Me Up, Hallelujah and Any Dream Will Do. Stephen kindly agreed to sing at this year´s Marbella Awards in support of Fletcher Falvey. By his third number, he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand with massed audience participation….a wonderful performance by Stephen Lloyd-Morgan.” – Essential Marbella Magazine – December 2009
“Rarely, if ever at all, do we literally get World Class entertainment delivered direct to our door step, but we certainly did at The Summer Event held inside El Castillo de la Duquesa on 22nd August (2009). Never before has Manilva seen a show like it! Welsh Tenor Stephen Lloyd-Morgan was most certainly the star of the 280 seat sell-out show…..This was The Event of The Summer, if not the year! Simple as that!!” – Andalucia Life Magazine – September 2009
“Stephen Lloyd-Morgan is the latest singing sensation to sweep the coast, with a host of concerts and after-dinner entertainment shows which went down a storm last year.” – Hi Society Magazine – March 2009
The late renowned Music Impresario Victor O´Gilvie worked in the industry for over 30 years, and organised Concerts for many top international artists along the Costa Del Sol, including BB King, Ray Charles, Gloria Gaynor, Paco de Lucía, Elton John and George Benson. Of Stephen Lloyd-Morgan, Victor wrote, “I have seen many talented singers during the years I’ve been involved in the Music Business, and surely Steve is one of the most talented performers to come through in this particular area (opera & musical theatre) in many years.” - October 2008
“I have watched Stephen Lloyd-Morgan grow and develop over an eight year period and I believe he certainly exemplifies the West End´s high standards. Not to mention being a nice guy with a wonderful voice!” – Ian Good – Director Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, currently directing the award-winning musical `Hairspray´. – October 2008
Performing a handful of his repertoire in an evening would be an achievement for many, but to sing such demanding songs relentlessly in English, Spanish or Italian, almost without pause, sometimes for up to two hours, is remarkable.
In February 2010 Steve sang and co-produced with his Manager Nick Holland the Charity single “The Prayer for Haiti” www.slmlive.com/theprayerforhaiti. You can also view the YouTube video on this site by Steve performing “Sometimes I Dream” 2 weeks ago
